Consent: Yes, yes, yes!

Sexual Health Week 2018

This year’s Sexual Health Week is all about consent, a topic that underpins all our work on relationships, sexual health and wellbeing.

Consent: Yes, yes, yes! will be talking about how consent is about far more than saying ‘No’ to unwanted activity. It’s about listening, negotiating, and enthusiastically agreeing.

It is an offence of sexual assault for a person intentionally to touch another person sexually without reasonable belief that they consented. Touching covers all physical contact, whether with a part of the body or anything else, or through clothing.

The maximum penalty for sexual assault and for causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent is ten years imprisonment. Where as Rape or sexual assault involving penetration carry’s a life sentence.
